AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, manufactures superior mechanical inserts, studs, compression limiters, installation tools and military standard bolts. AVK produces blind installed threaded fasteners for transportation and general industrial markets worldwide. We use state of the art high-speed cold forming equipment to produce blind installed threaded inserts and studs. We feature product lines of both unified (INCH) and metric fasteners along with numerous special designs that meet customer application requirements. All aspects of our business are controlled and certified to the exacting requirements of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001:2015 international standards. Housed in an 80,000 square-foot facility in the Valencia Industrial Center, AVK has been manufacturing high quality products for over 25 years.
Position Summary:
The Quality Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, management, and coordination of the quality control activities to ensure that the company delivers products that meet all internal and customer requirements as outlined within the IATF 16949:2016, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 and other company requirements. This position is crucial to the success of the organization and requires the ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers, suppliers, and employees while fostering an environment that sustains profitability. Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Company’s Quality Management System in compliance with customer and company requirements
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership to the organization to help drive a proactive approach leading to improvements in design, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
• Lead monthly management reviews for the site leadership team to help drive continuous improvement on top issues impacting performance.
• Actively facilitate improvement in new product development, continuous improvement activities & quality initiatives as well as customer interface and manufacturing processes to ensure quality and reliability requirements are well defined, understood, incorporated, and met.
• Analyze customer returns and failure rates data in depth and provide trending analysis. Update Quality Metrics and review repair data for accuracy, determine root cause and CAPA (corrective and preventive actions) with a focus on systemic improvements. You will accomplish this by collaborating with Operations and Engineering, as needed, to determine the root cause of both field and in-process failures.
• Perform Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R)
• Perform Tensile, Pull out, Assembly Torque testing.
• Perform full Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
• Perform International Material Data System (IMDS), RoHS compliance, Conflict of Minerals.
• Manage Internal calibration systems.
• Conduct internal audits of the manufacturing processes including customer specific audits such as CQI-9 and CQI-11.
• Expand and improve existing business processes.
• Identify and further develop KPI’s (key performance indicators) within the business to help drive improvements and Operational Excellence.
• Further enhance the organization through the use and implementation of various tools such as control plans, process flows, FMEA (failure mode and effects analysis), and DOE (design of experiments).
• Drive and promote a culture of quality within the organization.
• Quality management system ownership, management of the Internal Quality System Audit Program, and conduct Quality System Management Reviews.

Required Experience:
• A background in machining manufacturing and quality systems; automotive/aerospace preferred.
• 7 years’ experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Management or a combination of them is preferred.
• Experience as an inspector in an automotive/ aerospace precision machine shop operation is preferred.
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Level of Education:
• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or university; in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering or related technical discipline. 7+ years minimum industry experience.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $113700 to $170500 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
