Project Coordinator/Bookkeeper

Santa Clarita, CA

$25 - $27/hour, Temporary/Full-Time
 

JT Resources is seeking a qualified candidate to temporarily fill the role of Project Coordinator/Bookkeeper. As the Project Coordinator/Bookkeeper specializing in time sheet entry, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely recording of employee work hours for the growing, fast-paced  general labor construction Company.  This role will also provide opportunities to handle other accounting functions. This position requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.  The position is currently a temporary role, with the possibility of the position becoming non-temporary later this year. 

Responsibilities:

  1. Time Sheet Management: Enter and maintain accurate records of 100-150+ employee time sheets daily into the Company's system.
  2. Verification: Review and audit time sheets for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Company policies and CA labor laws.
  3. Accounting Support: Payroll processing, Accounts Payable, credit card coding and general bookkeeping tasks.
  4. Phone Reception: Answer incoming calls, greet callers warmly, and assist with inquiries or direct them to the appropriate contact.
  5. Communication: Liaise with clients, supervisors, and employees to resolve discrepancies or issues related to time sheets.
  6. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the office, including answering phones, responding to emails, filing paperwork, office/warehouse organization and maintenance and other tasks as needed.

Requirements:

  1. Bilingual Proficiency: Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
  2. Previous Experience: Minimum of 2–3-year experience in a similar administrative role, preferably in a construction or related industry. Labor compliance experience a plus.
  3. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  4. Phone Skills: Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills, with the ability to handle calls professionally and efficiently.
  5. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  6. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  7. Tech Savvy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with time tracking software or databases. Experience w/QuickBooks a plus.
  8. Customer Service Skills: Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees and provide support in a professional and courteous manner.
  9. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, analyze problems, and propose solutions.
  10. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, a dynamic office team, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  11. Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  12. Team Player: Strong team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with others.

Compensation
Pay for this position is between $25-$27 hourly. 
Enjoy health, dental and vision benefits after 60 days of employment. If selected, the candidate is eligible for enrollment in Company 401k Plan with Principal® after one year of employment and an employer match of 100 percent of employee contributions, up to 4 percent of annual income. This is a temporary position that may lead to full time employment.
