Job Title: Medical Biller

Reports To: Billing and Collections Manager

Direct Reports: n/a

Office Location: Santa Clarita, CA | On-site

Salary Range: $48,000 to $52,000 based on experience + nonexempt eligible for overtime

LHH Recruitment Solutions (Los Angeles) is partnering with a medical devices and healthcare company in Santa Clarita to hire a Medical Billing and Collection Specialist.

 

Description:

Ensure timely filing and proper completion of health insurance billing and resubmission of unpaid claims using billing codes and procedures

  • Ensure proper application of all payments and monitor and communicate payment issues and rejections.
  • Provide correspondence from payment remittance advices for improvement to collection processes, contract allowances or product coverage.
  • Reviews and acts upon insurance denials, underpayment and claim rejections.

 

Qualifications:

High school diploma; Bachelor's degree and/or medical billing courses/certifications preferred

  • 2-3 years of medical billing and collections experience in the healthcare industry
  • Emphasis on insurance billing, reimbursement and collections for durable medical equipment
  • Knowledge of medical billing procedures and insurance contracts including Medicare regulations, private healthcare insurance carriers, managed care providers and worker's compensation.
