Manufacturing Supervisor
Business Profile:  
AVK Industrial Products, a Precision Castparts Company, manufactures superior mechanical inserts, studs, compression limiters, installation tools and military standard bolts. AVK produces blind installed threaded fasteners for transportation and general industrial markets worldwide. We use state of the art high-speed cold forming equipment to produce blind installed threaded inserts and studs. 
We feature product lines of both unified (INCH) and metric fasteners along with numerous special designs that meet customer application requirements. All aspects of our business are controlled and certified to the exacting requirements of ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001:2015 international standards. Housed in an 80,000 square-foot facility in the Valencia Industrial Center, AVK has been manufacturing high quality products for over 25 years.

Position Summary: 
Responsible for the direct supervision of focus-factory/process production employees, maximizing safety, quality, variable cost, individual and plant-wide productivity, and technical skill development to ensure on-time shipments and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Operations Manager and serves as their back-up.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Works with departments to ensure that all production methods and practices are consistent with internal quality standards, customer requirements, and the ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 14001:2015.
•    Assists material planner when needed to properly schedule manufacturing operations within departments.
•    Analyzes, establishes, and communicates performance standards for operation departments.
•    Control the flow of products, materials and labor utilization in their department /process to maximize productivity and minimize cost while achieving safety, quality, inventory and throughput targets.
•    Review and plan for daily, weekly, and quarterly labor, equipment, tooling and supply requirements to achieve manufacturing throughput while meeting and exceeding productivity targets.
•    Ensures alignment among department employees on department goals and objectives by leading daily employee team meetings and soliciting employee feedback needed to remove performance obstacles and improve the work environment.
•    Leads the team in developing and implementing effective systems for improving internal and external quality, cost improvements and on-time delivery to the customer requirements.
•    Documents all department functions and reviews/maintains the daily Time and Attendance recordkeeping system for their department.
•    Ensure that scrap collection in operation departments is being properly controlled and disposed.
•    Effectively collaborates with engineering and quality to achieve scrap, cost and safety requirements, maintaining and proactively managing process improvement pipeline for areas of responsibility.
•    Provide effective leadership and act in a manner that maintains a positive and productive work environment with customers, clients and co-workers.
•    Analyze variable labor costs daily and determine required staffing levels and support labor re-allocation across manufacturing as required.
•    Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; evaluating and appraising individual performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner.
•    Plans and support cross training to ensure the elimination of all skill gaps, resulting in a more skilled and adaptable workforce. 
•    Administers policies and procedures as required.
•    Supports a zero-injury culture by proactively complying with all environmentally safe practices and regulations. 
•    Conducts Supervisory Briefings and Daily Huddles in areas of responsibility.
•    Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications: Education and Experience
•    2 years of Supervisory experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, leading teams of 20+ people
•    Experience in aerospace/fastener/metals manufacturing industries, with strong knowledge of all fastener materials preferred.
•    Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
•    Experience with header tooling and equipment (Progressive & Non-Progressive) knowledge of wire material and coatings.
•    BS in Aerospace, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or similar is highly preferred.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $85300 to $115000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors.  For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 2X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company’s 401(k) plan.
