Job Summary: The Accounting Manager oversees financial and accounting operations, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial records, while also managing budgets, analyzing data, and supervising staff to improve an organization's financial health
Responsibilities/Tasks: As Accounting Manager, employee is tasked with:
- Demonstrating GAAP accounting
- Assist with implementing and maintaining proper internal controls
- Manage general accounting functions
- Manage accounts payable functions
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger
- Review and post all journal entries
- Schedule and oversee finance month end close
- Assist with preparation of monthly management report package
- Assist with budget and re-forecast for annual operating plan
- Responsible for business local and state sales tax filing
- Reviewing and approving bi-weekly payroll
- Reviewing and approving misc. accounts payable invoices (utilities, FedEx; etc.)
- Understanding manufacturing cost and inventory controls
- Review bank balances daily, responsible for appropriate funds in bank accounts
- Review credit card charges daily and make credit card payments as needed
- Scheduling accounts payable payments
- Work order accounting close
- Track clinical study patient expenses
- Assist/manage financial audits, fulfilling document requests from auditors
- Review and set limits for managers and above approval limits
- Systems software administrator: QAD (ERP system), CashPro, Concur, Blackline and banking access
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by Chief Financial Officer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in accounting, with roles in leadership or with increasing responsibility
- Proficiency in QAD and Finance Systems
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and auditing practices
- Knowledge of accounting standards (GAAP)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft suite
